From Simple to Fabulous... Just add Flair

Happy Hump Day!  Here is a little crafty inspiration to get you through the week.

I am part of a group on facebook that creates and swaps handmade Project life style cards and embellishments. You can find us here - Projectlifecardswaps.com   Taniesa from TheCraftyPickle is one of the hostess in our group.  She hosts a new swap every month called JAF - Just Add Flair.  For this swap we are to create a 3x4 or 4x6 PL card with a spot for the receiver to add a flair button.

Here is the card I created for this round of swaps.  The red flower is where the receiver can add their own flair button or embellishment to personalize their card.

So This is my card that I personalized using a custom flair from TheCraftyPickle
This is a special flair button that Taniesa sent me as a sample of the beautiful gold foil flairs that will soon be released in several amazing designs in TheCraftyPickle shop around August 14th. You can say you saw it here first. A special Sneak Peek just for you!  These are really beautiful in person.  So be sure to check back and see the entire New release on August 14th.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Crafty Monday

Today I am sharing with you a Wedding card I created using the "Not Too Shabby" stamp set from HoneyBeeScraps.  The sweet little icons and saying are perfect for creating this card.

I started by stamping onto some punched out hearts then layered those hearts onto some pretty patterned paper.  I also inked all my edges to add depth and contrast to my card.
I used 3D foam adhesive squares to pop up my hearts.
This really adds some dimension to my card.

So next time you need a quick card try this simple and pretty design. You can add any icon or saying to the hearts to fit your celebration.

Sharing recent handmade PL cards

Happy Monday.

Today I would like to share some handmade PL cards I have recently created.  This is a quick post just to give you a peak into my Creative world.  Thanks for stopping by.

These cards are ones that I created over the weekend at our Virtual Summer Crop hosted by PLCS -
Project Life Card Swaps Facebook group.   In this group we make and swap PL cards and embellishments.  It's a lot of fun.  If your interested in joining in click on the link and request to add.  We had several card challenges throughout the day so I was a busy bee entering each one.

For these few cards you will recognize my favorite stamp sets from HoneyBeeScraps.  I love the handwritten sentiments that are part of these sets.  So pretty and add just the right touch to my handmade cards.

Scrap along step by step challenge.  These cards were created by only using 3 sheets of 6x6 paper.

This was a Color board challenge where we created a card that was inspired by the inspiration board posted
For this card we were challenged to "Frame a Flair" of course I had to use my flair button from TheCraftyPickle  This will be a fun card to add to my 4th of July layout from this year.

Birthday Card Challenge. Notice some pretty Heidi Swapp papers and embellishments here.

For this card I created a little tag pocket.  This was for the Let's have a Cookout challenge

Summer Memory challenge. We always pick strawberries in the summer so I love this card.

I also created this 6x6 layout for a Upcycle reuse repurpose challenge.  I used old book pages that I die cut for the flowers, cork chair leg pads ( from the $1 store ) and some antique buttons.  This was a really fun challenge.

And Lastly I created one Project life spread. This was to show off my handmade Shaker card. I even used two handmade Pl cards that I received in a recent swap at PLCS.

We had a really fun and creative day.  I cannot wait until fall when we host a Ghouls Night Crop.

Until next time.

Layering handmade PL cards

I love to layer pretty papers when creating my own project life style cards, I think the layers just make the cards really interesting and not so flat.  I also ink all the edges to make the colors pop.

One of my favorite ways to do this is with a Circle punch, or several,  in a variety of sizes.

To start I chose to use a pad of 6x6 pattern paper from My Minds Eye Indie Chic collection I punched out several circles in different patterns and sizes.
I also used some layered stickers from the same collection to embellish my cards.  The circle "theme" is also perfect for embellishing with Flair buttons for added interest and personalization. My go to flair is always from TheCraftyPickle.
For this card I layered 3 circles in different patterns and sizes then embellished with this adorable doodle flower flair from TheCraftyPickle shop

This card has a beautiful 3D layered sticker and a Watercolor butterfly flair. Using the layered stickers and flair buttons just add that special touch to make this card pop with interest.

I created a total of 4 cards for this set. I really like to have a few handmade embellished cards on hand to keep in my stash so I can just grab them when needed to fill in a layout.
I also added some pretty sequins from the Spring Fling mix available in TheCraftyPickle shop.  They are my favorite  embellishment when I want to add a little bling.

I hope this post inspires you to create a few handmade card to keep in your crafty stash.

Distressed watercolor gift tags

Today I am sharing with you a pretty little gift tag I created.
I made these to go on homemade jars of body butter I gave to guests at a Summer Luncheon I hosted.
I started by die cutting some scalloped tags with my Sizzix machine.  I then colored my tags with my Distress Inks.

After I colored all my tags and the ink was dry, I stamps this pretty wreath and tiny bow from the "Not Too Shabby" stamps set by HoneyBeeScraps.
I then painted the little flowers in lavender

I printed my labels onto a clear transparency sheet, cut to size and attached to my tag by running through my Xyron Sticker maker
I tied my tags on with some pretty eyelash fibers.
I really love the way they came out and so did my guest.
I found the recipe for the whipped body butter on Pinterest.
I added Lemon and Lavender pure essential oils to create this lovely gift.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Birthday America

I hope you are all enjoying your 4th of July celebrations with family and friends.  Today I wanted to share with you a fun shaker card I created to go in my Project life album.

When I saw this All American flair set and matching Star Spangled confetti mix from TheCraftyPickle shop I knew I was going to create a fun shaker card with them.

To create my shaker card I started with a 4x6 white card with rounded corners, I used my steel dies to cut out a few star shapes.
Then I cut a piece of clear plastic acetate 1/4" smaller than the 4x6 card base.
I attached the clear plastic to my card with some 1/4" foam tape.  This creates the pocket for my confetti.
I then add a little liquid adhesive to my base and sprinkle a few stars down so they are stationary. Once dry I then add a lot more of my star mix, these will move around inside my shaker pocket.

To finish the pocket I attach another 4x6 card to the back on top of the foam tape, creating the pocket.

To complete my card, I inked and attached the star shapes that I cut out to make the windows. Last but certainly not least I added my two flair buttons from TheCraftyPickle.
I love this fun interactive card... I could shake it all day.
