Graduation Cards

Today I have a treat for you,  this post will be a collaboration of TheCraftyPickle and HoneyBeeScraps used to create four Graduation cards.

This is a great pairing.  I love HoneyBeeScraps stamps and  CraftyPickle flair so using them together on these cards was a natural choice for me.

I needed to create four Graduation cards for up coming Grads in my life. One being my daughter Hannah. This is the card I created for her using some custom flair from TheCraftyPickle.  I love that Taniesa can create any theme or logo specific to your needs.  It adds that special touch no store bought card can provide.  I also used my HoneyBeeScraps Life Right Now stamp set on the banner of this card.  "Remember this moment" is the perfect sentiment.

For my next card I decided to use the fun
from TheCraftyPickle shop.  I created a shaker card.  I think this is going to be a big hit with my niece.  It was lucky for me that both schools have Red, White and Black for their school colors. This card is embellished with a a flair button from the Graduation set too.

Switching it up a bit I also needed to make a card for one of my good friends daughter who's school colors are Teal, black and white.  For this card I stamped the sentiment "Celebrate" also from the "Life Right Now" Stamp set from HoneyBeeScraps. I embellished this card with some sparkle and another TCP flair from the Graduation set.

Lastly I needed an 8th Grade Promotion card.  This one is a bit cutesy.   I had this cute 3D Owl embellishment from Jolee's Boutique, it had a little colorful banner already attached but I wanted to add my nieces name Tori, so I stamped out the little banner from the "Not Too Shabby" stamp set. I then fussy cut it out and colored it in with a red marker. To personalize it I added her name with a white paint pen. I love the way it turned out.  I also created the background on this card by repeatedly stamping the word celebrate and some tiny stars in red and black ink.  These are stamps from the "Life Right Now" set. The tiny icons in this set are perfect for this technique. To complete my card I added a 2015 TCP flair and a few star sequins.

I hope I have inspired you to create some fun cards for the Graduate in your life.  You should check out TheCraftyPickle  and  HoneyBeeScraps shops to pick up your own fun flair or sweet stamps and get to crafting.

Until next time

Playing with resist technique

Today I am going to share with you a fun technique I just learned.  Its a resist stamping technique using Tsukineko VersaMark Watermark Stamp Pad and the "No Place Like Home" stamp set from #HoneyBeeScraps Etsy Shop

I Started with some glossy Artist trading cards.  ( a glossy surface is a must with this technique ) I cut my cards down to 2 1/2" square, then using a 2 1/4" template I traced an outline onto my card. This works best with a pigment liner pen so it will not smear. Next,  I stamped several of the little Airplane images from the stamp set with the VersaMark ink.
I also stamped two sentiments from the same stamp set on two accent pieces.
You will need to wait a couple of hours for the ink to dry completely before going onto the next step.

Using Distress ink and a sponge applicator,  apply the ink in a circular motion covering the entire piece of card stock. The Distress Ink colors I used are, mustard seed, wild honey, mowed lawn and peacock feathers.

My completed 4x6 card has been double matted onto blue and white card stock and embellished with some fun enamel arrows.  I think this PL card is perfect to use in my recent travel album.

As Always,  I am thankful you stopped by today.

Hey It's Freebie Friday...

Did you know every Friday is Freebie Friday over at #HoneyBeeScraps?

We it is!

I am usually one who misses out on the Freebie SVG files cause I do not own a Silhouettte or other digital die cutting machine.
But I have found a way to use some of those cool cut files by just printing the image and cutting to size.

Today's Freebie SVG file is a perfect example. I love the sentiment.
I downloaded the file onto my computer and then opened a PDF preview. I then scaled the image to 35% and printed it onto smooth cardstock.
I colored in the sentiment.  I then matted my sentiment onto pretty pattered paper and added a few enamel dots.

So if your looking for some fun FREE SVG files, follow the HoneyBeeScraps blog and check in every Friday.

Have a Fabulous Weekend.

Quick and Easy Watercolor cards

Sharing today another project I created for the #HoneyBeeScraps blog.

Creating these fun watercolor card was really easy.  I used a "sploosh" technique.  To create these I start with a craft mat, I transfer, with a brush three complimentary concentrated watercolors to my crafty mat then spritz with water, I then lay my piece of watercolor paper on top of the blending colors to create a "sploosh" of color.  Once my water color paper is completely dry I took some chalkboard paint and splattered it around my card.  To create the dots I dipped the end of my paint brush into the paint and dropped it onto my card.   For my title I punched a 1" circle and heat embossed the sayings.  I used the "No Place Like Home" Stamp set from HoneyBeeScraps

Working with this stamp set has been a lot of fun.  Be sure to check out the HoneyBeeScraps Etsy shop to pick up your own "No Place Like Home" Stamp set.

No Place Like Home

Hello Happy Scrappers. I am excited to share with you today, my first set of project life cards that I created with my new HoneyBeeScraps stamp set "No Place Like Home"

For this card I use what I call a wet stamping technique. I first mist my watercolor paper so some water is absorbed into the paper.  While my paper is still wet I stamp the background images I love how the ink kind of bleeds into the paper. I also use a blending tool and blend some of my colors around my card.  Once my background is completely dry I use my Black dye ink and stamp my sayings.  To complete my card I layered onto patterned paper and added a cork arrow.

I used the same wet stamping technique on this card. I also added some shadow stamping to this card, where I double stamped my chevrons without re-inking my stamp.  This will be a journal card in my travel album. For this card I embellished with some cork stars.  I don't know about you, but I am in love with cork embellishments.

For my Last card I created what will be my Title card for the Spring break trip that we just took to Northern California to tour some colleges that my daughter will be attending this fall.  This US map stamp is so fun because you can add a drop pin, as I did to mark your route along the way. I also love the little icon stamps that come in this set, I added the car to my road trip card.

If you want to purchase this great travel stamp set you can find it in the HoneyBeeScraps Etsy Shop
